Facility
- Raise the vehicle using safety equipment.
- Remove the vehicle tires according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- For power steering boxes, drain the fluid.
- Carefully remove the steering knuckle ends from the steering knuckle carrier.
- Remove the chassis fastening system (bushings or clamps)
- Remove the steering column couplings (crosspieces and yoke)
- Remove the current steering box
- Install the new KMX Steering Box, in the same order as disassembled
- Check the tightness of all bolts and nuts
Expert Tips:
RECOMMENDATIONS WHEN INSTALLING
- Check the condition of the crossheads misadjusted Steering Racks will cause malfunction and premature wear on the KMX steering rack. Also check the condition of the steering column and yoke.
- Perform alignment. After the installation of the KMX steering rack, generally the alignment parameters are lost, performing alignment will guarantee a perfect operation of the product.
- Hydraulic System. For steering boxes with hydraulic assistance, it is important to check the condition of the pump and pipes
- Adjustment screws. The adjustment screws guarantee the adequate torque calculated by the car manufacturer. In order to preserve the product warranty, it is recommended NOT to modify or move it from the marked position.
