Accessory belts are responsible for transmitting movement or rotational energy to the so-called accessories of our vehicle, which include: alternator, air conditioning compressor, power steering pump in vehicles with hydraulic steering and, sometimes, water pumps.

RECOMMENDATIONS WHEN INSTALLING
There are some signs of improper operation of the vehicle's accessory belt, which include:
- For vehicles with power steering: Difficulty moving the steering.
- Elevation of engine temperaturer to higher than normal values.
- Air-conditioning broken.
- Low battery charge: It occurs when the accessory belt breaks and the charge is not generated by the alternator.
During the accessory belt installation and replacement process it is recommended to:
- Replace tensioners whenever possible.
- Use the right system locking tools
- Check timing points marked on pulleys
- Check the tension
- Check for noises
- Never bend timing belts! If the delicate fibreglass casing inside breaks, the belt can break while the engine is running.
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions for assembly, storage and change intervals.
